Beavertown

The brewery was started by Logan Plant in the kitchen of a barbecue restaurant in Haggerston, and takes its name from the Victorian-era nickname for the De Beauvoir Town neighbourhood. In 2018, Heineken UK acquired a minority stake to fund the construction of Beaverworld, a 150,000 sq ft facility in Enfield capable of producing 500,000 hectolitres per year. Heineken UK completed a full acquisition in September 2022, with Logan Plant moving to an advisory role.

The alcohol-free range launched in late 2020 with an AF IPA brewed using a yeast strain that ferments the malt without producing alcohol. This differs from dealcoholisation, where a beer is brewed at full strength and the alcohol removed afterwards: Beavertown's approach stops alcohol from forming during fermentation. An AF lager was added to the range in early 2024, timed to coincide with Dry January. Both sit in the premium bracket for alcohol-free beer.

Beavertown's visual identity is as distinctive as its beers. Creative Director Nick Dwyer's psychedelic, sci-fi-inflected artwork has made Beavertown packaging immediately recognisable across the craft beer category, and the same aesthetic carries through to the AF range. The brewery also operates a microbrewery inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as part of a high-profile partnership with the club.

Distribution is multi-channel: the AF IPA is widely stocked across mainstream supermarkets and through specialist alcohol-free retailers, giving it one of the broader retail footprints among AF craft beers. The AF lager currently has a narrower retail footprint.
