Sober Brummie
Sober Brummie is an alcohol-free beer brand brewed in Stirchley, Birmingham, launched in December 2020 by Birmingham Brewing Company to coincide with Dry January. The company was formed in August 2016 by Paul and Charlotte Harwood.
Each beer is brewed in exactly the same way as a conventional alcoholic beer. The grain bill uses deglutenised malted barley and deglutenised malted wheat (malts from which the gluten has been removed), along with British Pale Malt, hops, and yeast. Stouts are brewed with roasted malts and oatmeal, and nitrogen-infused on filling. All beers in the range are dry hopped with Citra, Chinook, Centennial, and Mosaic varieties.
The full range is brewed using 100% renewable energy and packaged in recyclable materials. Sober Brummie donates 5% of its sales to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
