Kasteel is a Belgian fruit beer brand produced by Van Honsebrouck, a family-owned brewery founded in 1865 in Werken, with a 0.0% alcohol-free range launched in 2022.

Van Honsebrouck has operated continuously for over 150 years, relocating to a purpose-built facility in Izegem in 2016. The Kasteel name draws on the family's connection to Ingelmunster Castle, purchased in 1986, which has shaped the brand's identity since the original Kasteel beer launched in 1989. That heritage predates the commercial alcohol-free category by several decades.

The 0.0% range uses vacuum evaporation to produce its alcohol-free variants. Vacuum evaporation is a method that removes alcohol from fully brewed beer at reduced pressure and low temperature, which protects the aroma compounds that would be driven off by conventional high-heat processing. The brewery documents this technique on its brand site as central to maintaining the flavour character of each AF variant. The lineup spans fruit-forward dark beers and lighter fruit-led styles, with each variant designed as a direct counterpart to an established alcoholic beer in the Kasteel portfolio rather than a standalone AF creation.

The 0.0% beers sit in the premium bracket and are available through specialist alcohol-free retailers. The range is compact, but its grounding in a 19th-century Belgian brewing tradition gives it a different provenance from most AF fruit beers on the market. For sober-curious drinkers exploring Belgian-style alcohol-free options, Kasteel's combination of fruit-forward character and brewing history over 130 years old is a distinctive starting point.
