Naesip
Naesip is a small Scottish brand producing a single non-alcoholic botanical spirit. The name appears to be a phonetic play on words in the Scots idiom, and the product, the Munro, takes its name from Scotland's famous high mountains. The range currently consists of one expression, made in small batches using Scottish gooseberry, juniper, and other botanical extracts, with no added sugar or artificial colours.
The Munro sits at 0.5% ABV and is priced at the premium end for a single bottle. The recommended serve is a relatively small measure (25ml) topped with tonic and a blood orange wedge, so each bottle stretches to around 20 servings. The flavour profile is described as deeply refreshing with a more persistent finish than most non-alcoholic spirits manage, which is the category's perennial challenge.
The brand is very early-stage. There is currently one product, it sells direct from their website, and it is positioned for gin drinkers looking for something with genuine botanical character and a Scottish provenance. Whether the range expands remains to be seen.
