Gunning launched Collider as an independent micro-producer committed exclusively to the alcohol-free market, entering the category in late 2022, a period when the AF beer segment was growing rapidly but still dominated by dealcoholised versions of established full-strength beers.

Collider's production approach is central to its identity. Rather than brewing a conventional beer and then stripping out the alcohol, the brand brews directly to 0.0% without ever producing alcohol in the first place. Dealcoholisation, which typically involves heat or vacuum processes to separate alcohol from finished beer, can strip aromatic compounds alongside the alcohol it removes. By avoiding it entirely, Collider aims to preserve the hop and yeast character that defines the style. The IPA in the range is produced unfiltered and unpasteurised, a further commitment to minimal processing.

Distribution is through the brand's own direct-to-consumer channel and specialist alcohol-free retailers, a deliberate footprint consistent with an independent micro-producer at an early stage of growth. Premium pricing reflects both the production philosophy and the specialist positioning.

The range spans lagers and IPAs, covering two of the most popular formats in the AF beer category. As one of a small number of dedicated independent producers applying craft-beer thinking to 0.0% brewing from the outset, Collider sits at the more considered end of the AF market, aimed at sober-curious drinkers who want independently brewed beer with a clear production rationale.
