Three Mills
Three Mills is a British Wine brand produced by Broadland Drinks at its winery in Cawston, Norfolk, with an alcohol-free range launched in 2018.
Broadland Drinks has operated from the Cawston site since 1965, and Three Mills is its flagship British Wine label. In the UK, 'British Wine' is a distinct legal category covering wines fermented and blended domestically from imported grape juice concentrate, as distinct from English or Welsh wine made from freshly harvested home-grown grapes. Three Mills is produced within that category, fermented and blended at the Norfolk winery from concentrated juice rather than vineyard-fresh fruit.
The alcohol-free range uses a spinning cone column to remove alcohol from the finished wine. The spinning cone column is a low-temperature method of separating alcohol from finished wine, passing the liquid through rotating cones under reduced pressure to remove alcohol without the heat that would otherwise strip out aromas. This process allows Three Mills to produce 0% products from its British Wine base whilst retaining recognisable wine character.
The alcohol-free lineup includes a Crisp White Wine and a seasonal Mulled Wine variant positioned for autumn and winter occasions. Three Mills sits firmly in the value tier of the alcohol-free wine category, making it one of the more accessible options for weeknight drinkers who want a no-fuss, familiar choice at a modest price. Distribution is multi-channel, covering mainstream supermarkets, online retail, and convenience stores. The brand's positioning around tradition and value sets it apart from premium AF wine producers, competing on accessibility rather than provenance or craft credentials.
