Whiplash

The brewery began as a nomad operation, renting spare capacity from other facilities before opening its own custom-built brewery in Ballyfermot in 2019. That move gave the founders full control over production: all Whiplash beers are brewed unfiltered and unpasteurised, and canned on site at the Ballyfermot facility. The brewery operates without a fixed core range, releasing beers on a rotating schedule dictated by the founders' current interests. This keeps the catalogue constantly shifting and is central to Whiplash's identity as an experimental, format-agnostic craft operation.

Label artwork across the range is produced by creative director Sophie De Vere, whose distinct visual language has become a recognisable part of the brand's identity alongside the beer itself.

Whiplash's alcohol-free range launched in 2022, with the brewery's first AF beer extending the unfiltered, flavour-led approach into the non-alcoholic category. Distribution for the AF release runs through specialist alcohol-free retailers, consistent with the brewery's wider presence across independent off-licences, bars, and specialist craft channels in Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Sober-curious drinkers already engaged with the craft beer world and seeking AF options that sit within the same quality bracket as their favourite independent breweries are the natural audience.
