Better Kombucha is a kombucha brand brewed and bottled in Birmingham, Alabama, that became the city's first commercial kombucha brewery in 2016. The brand was founded by Nancey Legg in 2015 and first sold its fermented teas at a small weekly farmer's market, building a local following before growing into a full commercial operation.
Kombucha is a fermented tea produced through the action of a naturally-occurring live culture, and Better Kombucha brews each batch from organic black and green teas, organic cane sugar, and filtered water. Production stays at a small-batch scale, with every brew produced by hand. Where locally sourced fruit, herbs, and spices are available, they are incorporated into the range, tying the brews to the seasonal produce of the region.
