Bottega

Aldo Bottega and his wife Rosina founded Distilleria Bottega in 1977 in Pianzano di Godega, in the Veneto region. Their ancestor Andrea had cultivated vines in the hills of Refrontolo since 1635, and Domenico Bottega worked as a wine trader in the generations before the distillery was established. After Aldo's death, Sandro Bottega became company director in 1983, and from 1987 the business began expanding outside Italy.

Following 1983, the distillery became known for an innovative system that reduced the alcohol content in grappa, and Aldo Bottega is credited with pioneering some of the earliest single-variety grappas. Today Bottega uses triple distillation and vacuum distillation (a technique that distils at lower temperatures under reduced pressure to preserve delicate aromas), cold-filters its grappa at -20°C, and draws on certified water sourced from the Alps. The company sources 98% of its raw materials from Italian suppliers and produces 14 million litres annually across wines, grappas, liqueurs, gin, and vodka. Sparkling wines account for approximately 65% of turnover, and Bottega holds around 2% of the world's Prosecco market. The headquarters occupies a renovated 17th-century farmhouse in the Prosecco region, designed with a focus on environmental sustainability; the distillery operates on renewable energy with a target of carbon neutrality.

Bottega began researching and experimenting in the alcohol-free sector more than 20 years ago. Its alcohol-free range includes sparkling wines and rosés made with grape must, suited to sober-curious drinkers. Products are distributed across more than 160 countries through a broad international retail network.
