Boulevard Brewing
Boulevard Brewing is a Kansas City, Missouri craft brewery that added an alcohol-free IPA to its range in 2022 and distributes beer across more than 40 US states.
The brewery's origins lie in a neighbourhood-scale founding story: John McDonald delivered the first keg of Boulevard Pale Ale to a nearby restaurant by pickup truck. The brand grew from that beginning into one of the more established craft names in the American Midwest. In 2013, Belgian family-owned brewer Duvel Moortgat acquired Boulevard, bringing it into a wider craft portfolio while the Kansas City brewery continued operating under its own identity.
Boulevard's alcohol-free range focuses on hop-forward IPAs. The beers are generously dry-hopped, a technique where hops are added to the beer after fermentation is complete rather than during the boil. Adding hops post-fermentation builds aromatic hop character without the bitterness that boil additions contribute, giving weeknight drinkers the aromatic complexity associated with craft IPAs in an alcohol-free format.
With distribution reaching more than 40 US states, Boulevard's alcohol-free beers sit alongside the brewery's broader conventional range, benefiting from a retail presence that most purely alcohol-free brands are unable to match.
