Brass Castle Brewery is a North Yorkshire craft brewery founded in 2011, producing a certified vegan and gluten-free alcohol-free beer range from its site in Malton.

Phil Saltonstall and Ian Goodall started Brass Castle on a garage power supply in Pocklington, East Yorkshire, before relocating the operation to Malton town centre in 2013. The brewery now runs a 12-barrel brewhouse alongside a smaller pilot kit used for experimental batches. That experimental instinct carries through to the alcohol-free range: Brass Castle entered the AF category in 2022, positioning its output to serve sober-curious drinkers without compromising on dietary accessibility. Every beer the brewery produces, including its AF variants, carries certified vegan and gluten-free status, a combination that remains underserved across the broader alcohol-free beer market. Brass Castle is one of the few craft breweries to address that overlap directly in its alcohol-free output.

The alcohol-free lineup covers pale ales and stouts, a modest but considered range shape that reflects the brewery's craft identity rather than a volume-led approach to the category. A stout in the AF lineup is a relatively unusual choice for an independent of this size, and signals that Brass Castle applies the same range-building logic to its alcohol-free output as it does to its full-strength beers.

Brass Castle has become part of the Malton food and drink community since relocating there in 2013. Distribution of the AF range runs through specialist alcohol-free retail channels, consistent with a small independent entering a niche category.
