Calanda
Calanda is a Swiss beer brand based in Chur, Canton of Graubünden, and the largest brewery in the canton, brewed under Heineken Switzerland's ownership since 1993.
The Calanda name emerged from a 1971 merger that brought together several Graubünden brewing operations, consolidating the canton's brewing output under a single identity. Heineken acquired Calanda Bräu in 1993, integrating it into Heineken Switzerland's portfolio while the brand retained its distinctly regional character.
Calanda's alcohol-free lineup includes 0.0% lagers and radlers. A radler is a beer mixed with fruit juice or a citrus-flavoured soft drink, a style with strong roots in German-speaking Alpine brewing culture. The AF versions give fitness-focused drinkers access to familiar Swiss-style formats without the alcohol.
As the largest brewery in Graubünden, Calanda occupies a specific position in the Swiss market: a mainstream lager with a strong cantonal identity that has been built since the brand's formation in 1971. Despite operating within the Heineken network, Calanda presents itself as a distinctly Graubünden product, reflecting the eastern Swiss region's culture and brewing tradition.
