Collective Arts

Collective Arts Brewing is a craft brewery founded in 2013 by Matt Johnston and Bob Russell in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with a mandate to combine the craft of brewing with the work of artists and musicians. The brewery's portfolio spans beers, ciders, spirits, and ready-to-drink options, including an alcohol-free range, and its distilling arm launched its first gins in 2019.

Packaging is built around original art: artists and musicians submit work through bi-yearly Calls for Art, and the brewery has worked with and compensated over 650 artists and musicians through the programme. Limited-edition artwork appears on its cans and bottles throughout the range.

The brewery leased the former Lakeport Brewing facility from the Hamilton Port Authority in 2014, the same year it built a cooperative brewery with Nickel Brook Brewing. It purchased Nickel Brook's shares in that cooperative in August 2017. Before the Collective Arts name was settled on, the founders also considered calling the company Chaos. The brewery runs taprooms, retail stores, and a live music venue across its locations in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, and produces year-round beers alongside seasonal releases.

The alcohol-free range is brewed with a unique yeast that produces a low-alcohol result from classic hoppy styles, and extends to zero-proof cocktail options. Aimed at sober-curious drinkers and those who prefer to skip alcohol without giving up flavour, the range has seen one of its drinks pick up an award. Products are available in Canada, the United States, Italy, France, Spain, Sweden, Australia, Costa Rica, and Japan.
