Dirwest
Dirwest is an alcohol-free drinks brand from the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales, producing gin-style botanical spirits and beers. Its name is the Welsh word for temperance. Nia Môn founded the company in 2025, based near Cowbridge.
Dirwest makes and bottles all products in Wales using UK-sourced ingredients, in small batches throughout the range. The botanical spirit brings together juniper, coriander, Seville orange and black pepper, with the orange and pepper contributing subtle background notes. The range also extends to IPAs and lagers, with the beers packaged in aluminium cans.
Packaging uses lightweight recycled-glass bottles for the spirits, aluminium cans for the beers, and recyclable cardboard and paper throughout, as part of a stated aim to be plastic-free.
Dirwest sells directly from its own website, placing it within the growing number of independent alcohol-free producers working at a regional scale in Wales.
