Doskiwis
Doskiwis Brewing is a Catalan craft brewery founded in 2016 by Judit and Michael in Rupià, Baix Empordà, specialising in modern hop-forward IPAs with an alcohol-free range.
The brewery takes its name from the founders' years living in New Zealand: Judit is from Catalonia, Michael from New Zealand, and the brand identity reflects that cross-cultural pairing. The brewery and taproom are housed in a converted rural building in Rupià, a small village in the Baix Empordà region of Catalonia, and the operation runs as an independent micro-brewery focused on small-batch production.
Doskiwis specialises in modern, heavily hopped beer styles with a focus on hazy New England-style IPAs and experimental small batches. New England IPA is a style characterised by low bitterness, a soft mouthfeel, and intense hop aroma from large additions of American and Pacific hop varieties. The hop-first approach defines the brewery across its alcoholic and alcohol-free output.
The AF IPA is the brewery's first and current alcohol-free release and is brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, three varieties associated with tropical fruit, citrus, and pine character. It is available through specialist alcohol-free retailers. For sober-curious drinkers interested in hop-forward AF beer from small independent producers, Doskiwis represents an unusual source: a tiny Catalan micro-brewery whose entire identity is built around the type of hops that define its AF offering.
At a premium price point for a single-product AF range from an independent micro-producer, Doskiwis sits firmly in the craft-specialist tier.
