Drop Bear Beer

In 2023, Joelle and Sarah Drummond acquired their first bricks-and-mortar brewery: a site at Swansea Enterprise Park that had been purpose-built as a brewery in 2000. Drop Bear beers are brewed with real beer ingredients, water, malted barley, wheat, hops, and yeast, following a process that honours traditional brewing techniques whilst embracing modern approaches. Every batch is tested to ensure gluten content falls below 20 parts per million, achieved by adding a natural enzyme that degrades the proteins responsible for triggering an immune response.

The range spans lagers and stouts, with Australia as a source of inspiration for the brand's character.

Drop Bear Beer Co holds certified carbon neutral status and is recognised as the world's first carbon neutral, alcohol-free brewery. It is also the UK's largest alcohol-free brewery and the UK's top-rated alcohol-free craft beer specialist. The brand exports to Finland, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

Around half of the Drop Bear team identify as female and/or LGBTQ+, and the business has a charity partnership with Galop, through which it funds four survivors of abuse and violence each month. Three equity crowdfunding campaigns have brought nearly 900 investors on board, including Henry Engelhardt. The brewery has recently converted its packaging from bottles to cans.
