Edenvale
Edenvale is an alcohol-free wine brand founded in Australia in 2006 by Michael Bright, established to address a gap in the market for sophisticated, high-quality alcohol-removed wine. A brand of Edenvale Beverages and based in South Eastern Australia, it became the first Australian-owned, dedicated alcohol-removed winery in the industry and is now Australia's leading alcohol-removed wine brand.
The wines are made using traditional winemaking techniques, with a fully fermented wine produced first before the alcohol is removed. This dealcoholisation process, meaning the alcohol is extracted from a conventionally made wine, uses a custom-modified spinning cone column that works through evaporation at a low temperature and adds no chemicals to the wine. The technology was developed in partnership with BevZero and Logichem. Edenvale invested $5 million in a new processing facility in the Murray-Darling region, incorporating GoLo 2200 technology, the first dealcoholisation system in the world to be powered by a direct heat-pump system.
The brand sources grapes from multiple growing regions, seeking out interesting varieties internationally. South Eastern Australia provides the foundation of much of the range, with additional grapes drawn from Marlborough in New Zealand, Frankland River in Australia, and Spain. Products are certified sustainable and adhere to Australian wine standards. Several of the wines have picked up awards.
