Everleaf
Everleaf is an alcohol-free aperitif brand founded in London by Paul Mathew, a conservation biologist specialising in plant conservation and a bartender with 30 years of experience. Mathew is also a master blender. The range launched during Dry January 2019, following over a year of experimentation, and trades under London Botanical Drinks.
Everleaf's aperitifs are made from 18 sustainably sourced botanicals drawn from land and sea. The brand uses a proprietary production method that adapts the extraction technique to each botanical: vetiver is processed via steam distillation, acacia gum is ground to a fine powder, and vanilla is macerated in alcohol. Botanical ingredients include saffron from Afghanistan, vanilla from Madagascar, iris flower from Florence, cherry blossom, acacia, and seaweed, alongside Fair Trade certified cane sugar.
Everleaf holds carbon-neutral certification from Climate Partner and donates at least 1% of its turnover to plant conservation charities as a member of the 1% For The Planet scheme. Three of its drinks have won awards, and Everleaf places third in the Drinks International Annual Brands Report, behind Seedlip and Lyre's.
The aperitifs can be mixed, stirred, or shaken and are stocked at around 3,000 bars and restaurants in the UK. The range is considered safe to drink during pregnancy.
