Feldschlößchen
Feldschlößchen is a Swiss brewery based in Rheinfelden that has been producing alcohol-free beer since 1991 and has been part of the Carlsberg Group since 2000.
Feldschlößchen launched its first AF beer in 1991, a date that predates the modern growth of the alcohol-free category by several decades. The brand has since invested in a dedicated dealcoholisation plant at its Rheinfelden site, a facility built specifically to produce beers with the alcohol removed after brewing. Dealcoholisation means the beer is brewed at standard strength and the alcohol is subsequently separated out, leaving a product that retains the character of the original recipe. The alcohol-free portfolio spans lagers, wheat beers, and radlers, covering a range of everyday styles suited to different drinking occasions.
Feldschlößchen became part of the Carlsberg Group in 2000, connecting the Swiss brewery to one of the largest brewing networks in the world. The brand remains rooted in Rheinfelden and carries a distinctive local identity: it is the only brewery in Switzerland still maintaining a working team of eight brewery horses, used for traditional deliveries at local events. This combination of early commitment to AF brewing and ongoing regional character gives Feldschlößchen a profile that sits apart from more recently converted competitors in the category.
The AF range is positioned for weeknight drinkers who want a familiar European beer format without alcohol, with a breadth of styles to suit different occasions.
