Four Pillars
Four Pillars is an Australian gin brand based in Healesville, Victoria, that entered the alcohol-free market in 2022 with its Bandwagon range of AF botanical spirits produced by steam distillation.
Four Pillars is fully owned by Lion, a subsidiary of Kirin Holdings, following the completion of that acquisition in 2023. The brand operates from a carbon-neutral distillery in Healesville, having become Australia's first carbon-neutral gin distillery in 2022. Its AF lineup is produced using steam distillation: a process in which steam is passed through botanical ingredients to capture their aroma and flavour compounds, producing a spirit-style drink that is alcohol-free from the outset rather than having the alcohol removed after the fact. This is a different approach from dealcoholisation, which is the more commonly used method in the AF spirits category.
The Bandwagon range was developed with reference to Four Pillars' existing alcoholic portfolio, including its Bloody Shiraz Gin. The steam distillation method was chosen specifically to translate botanical character into the AF format through a dedicated production process, rather than stripping alcohol from a finished spirit.
Four Pillars distributes internationally and is available through specialist retailers and direct-to-consumer channels globally. The Bandwagon range is aimed at sober-curious gin drinkers who want the botanical complexity associated with craft gin in an alcohol-free format, from a producer with a well-established distilling background.
