Gageleer

Gageleer is a certified organic beer brand, born out of a combined passion for beer and nature, and marketed to fund the purchase and conservation of nature reserves in the Campine. Its range includes an alcohol-free blonde ale.

Gageleer was first bottled in 1996 by the Proef brewery for the De Wielewaal nature society. In 1997 five members of the society raised the capital to found a co-operative to market it. The beer has been certified organic since 29 August 2003, and its barley comes from local organic farmers whenever possible.
