Grolsch is a Dutch lager brewery founded on 11 May 1615 by Willem Neerfeldt in the town of Grolle, now known as Groenlo, in the east of the Netherlands. The brewery takes its name directly from that founding location, "Grolsch" meaning "of Grolle". In 1895 the de Groen family bought the brewery, and in 1897 Grolsch introduced its distinctive swing-top bottle. A second brewery was built in 1876, and in 1922 Grolsch merged with De Enschedesche Bierbrouwerij to form N.V. Beer Brewery "De Klok". The brand gained the royal title Koninklijke in 1995.

Grolsch began exporting in 1946 and went international in 1972. The brand is now available in 70 countries, with a particular focus on the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It ranks as the 21st largest beer provider in the world. In 2008 Grolsch was acquired by SABMiller, and in 2016 it passed to Asahi Breweries after SABMiller was taken over by InBev.

Production transferred to a new site in Usselo, just outside Enschede, in 2003; the original Enschede and Groenlo breweries closed in 2005. The brewery built a 7 km pipe to draw from its original water source, first used in 1615. Grolsch uses Hallertau hops in two varieties, Emerald and Magnum, and recycles 99.8% of its waste. Its alcohol-free beer is made using a unique full fermentation process. The brand's alcohol-free range extends to lagers and radlers, and one of its alcohol-free drinks has picked up awards.
