GWYR is a Welsh gin and botanical spirit brand from Port Eynon on the Gower Peninsula, founded by Siân and Andrew Brooks around 2016 to 2017, and operating from a microdistillery housed in a converted structure measuring just seven square metres.

GWYR is the Welsh name for Gower, and the brand's identity is rooted entirely in that specific stretch of Welsh coastline. Botanicals are foraged under the Foraging Code, a framework the distillery follows to protect the peninsula's ecosystem, and wild fennel from the Gower sand dunes is a signature ingredient across the range. Base spirits are organic. Labels are bilingual in Welsh and English, tying the product to the cultural as well as the physical setting of the distillery.

The alcohol-free spirit carries a juniper-forward, citrus-driven profile with a warming ginger note. The botanical philosophy is consistent across both the alcoholic and AF sides of the portfolio: the same sourcing approach, the same raw materials, the same sense of place.

Dry January participants and dedicated moderators seeking a botanical spirit with a genuine sense of place will find few equivalents among mass-market producers. GWYR's retail footprint extends beyond its small production size, with the AF spirit available through mainstream supermarket channels alongside specialist outlets. It sits at the premium end of the independent AF spirits market.
