GWYR
GWYR is a Welsh gin brand produced by The Gower Gin Company in Port Eynon on the Gower Peninsula in Swansea, Wales, offering an alcohol-free spirit alongside its London Dry Gin. The Gower Gin Company is owned and operated by Siân and Andrew Brooks.
The name GWYR is the Welsh word for "pure", grounding the brand in the Gower region and the Welsh language. Production involves macerating botanicals with a neutral grain spirit before distilling through heating, evaporation and condensation. The gins draw on botanicals including foraged green and bronze fennel, juniper, lemon and pink grapefruit zest, combining earthy, savoury character with citrus sweetness. The London Dry Gin is naturally crisp and full of flavour without mixers.
One of the Gower Gin Company's gin releases was produced in partnership with the Dylan Thomas Estate, connecting the brand to Welsh literary culture alongside its coastal landscape. All packaging across the GWYR range is recycled and recyclable, and entirely plastic-free; the bottles carry a blue, white and copper-embossed label.
The Gower Gin Company's botanical gin range has been extended to include an alcohol-free spirit at Port Eynon, reaching sober-curious drinkers alongside the distillery's core gin audience.
