Hogans Cider
Hogan's Cider is a Warwickshire-based cider brand founded in 2005 by Allen Hogan in Alcester, operating as an independent, family-owned business with an alcohol-free range produced through a controlled fermentation approach rather than the more common route of making cider at full strength and then removing the alcohol afterwards.
The brand uses only fresh-pressed cider apples sourced from the Three Counties: Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and Gloucestershire, with no concentrates and no artificial flavourings. Hogan's has built its reputation on provenance and straightforward production: fruit from a defined growing region, pressed and fermented without shortcuts.
The AF range, launched in 2018 under the High Sobriety name, is the result of a slow, controlled fermentation process that keeps the final alcohol content low from the outset. For the sober-curious drinker interested in how production approach affects the finished drink, this distinction matters: High Sobriety is a cider made to be low-alcohol, not a stripped-back version of something developed for full strength. The AF range covers apple cider and fruit cider styles.
Distribution runs through specialist alcohol-free retailers and the brand's own direct channel, with export reaching over ten countries including the United States. Hogan's is a small producer by any measure, but its roots in traditional West Midlands cider-making give the AF range a regional character and traceable apple provenance that volume brands rarely replicate.
