Jiddler's Tipple

Jacob Liddle had been homebrewing in Turnpike Lane, North London for years before October 2019, when "The Jiddler" finally took things commercial. Partnering with By The Horns, a South London brewery, he launched Jiddler's Tipple with a clear brief: sessionable craft beer that's genuinely tasty, vegan, gluten-free, and easy on both the wallet and the eyes. The label designs come straight from Liddle's personal collection of vintage shirts, giving each can a distinctive retro-fabric aesthetic that's hard to miss on a shelf.

The core range runs to session pale ales, IPAs and a lager, all hovering around 3.8% ABV. The Everyday Pale Ale, their flagship, picked up Great Taste Awards recognition and is the template for everything the brand does: tropical and citrus hop character, a malty backbone from oats and wheat, soft mouthfeel, restrained bitterness. Quaffable without being thin.

The alcohol-free entry is the All Day Pale Ale at 0.5%, a direct translation of that Everyday Pale Ale recipe into zero-alcohol territory. It uses the same Citra, Amarillo and Mosaic hop bill, with Munich malt and a dose of oats and wheat to keep the body up where it needs to be. The result is noticeably tropical and citrusy, which makes sense given the hop choices. It's vegan and gluten-free like the rest of the range, and Jiddler's Tipple makes a point of producing with 40% solar power and operating carbon-negatively.

The All Day Pale Ale is stocked at Sainsbury's and available through Wise Bartender and Amazon. It's a small AF footprint from a brand whose main business is still very much in the sessionable ale category, but the commitment to carrying a properly made 0.5% option sits naturally alongside a brand philosophy built around sustainable, accessible drinking. A single, well-executed AF pale ale from a craft outfit that knows what it's doing with hops.
