Jopen is a Dutch craft beer brewery based in Haarlem, Netherlands, operating as an independent producer and one of the largest independent breweries in the country, with an alcohol-free range introduced in 2018.

The brewery's flagship venue, known as the Jopenkerk, occupies a converted former church, the Jacobskerk, in the centre of Haarlem, combining a production brewery with a grand café and restaurant. Jopen's founding beers were based on historical recipes recovered from the Haarlem city archives: one recipe dates to 1407, another to 1501, giving the brewery an unusually deep connection to the town's brewing heritage. The AF range was launched in 2018, extending the catalogue to sober-curious drinkers who want to engage with the brewery's styles without alcohol.

For drinkers looking for a craft brewery with a genuine sense of place and a historical dimension that most modern AF producers cannot match, Jopen is an unusual proposition: a working brewery housed in a medieval church, drawing on recipes that predate the industrial era by several centuries. The alcohol-free offer adds contemporary accessibility to that heritage without diluting the character of the wider range.
