La Pirata
La Pirata is an independent craft brewery based in Súria, Catalonia, Spain, founded in 2012 by Arán and Eric León following years of homebrewing. The brewery opened its facility in Súria in 2015 and has grown to a monthly production capacity of around 33,000 litres, running six 4,000-litre fermenters and two 6,000-litre fermenters, with equipment imported from the United States.
The name La Pirata reflects the brewery's pirate origins. Alongside its core craft beer catalogue, the brewery produces a line of alcohol-free IPAs. Those beers are hopped with Galaxy and Citra varieties and are unfiltered but pasteurised: the unfiltered process gives them a fuller body and characteristic haze, while pasteurisation provides shelf stability.
La Pirata distributes through multiple channels and its alcohol-free range is well suited to sober-curious drinkers looking for flavourful craft IPAs.
