Lost Pier
Lost Pier is a Brighton-based independent craft brewery founded in 2017, whose three co-founders transferred more than 50 years of joint experience in the wine industry into brewing. Operating on a cuckoo-brewing model, meaning it brews at two local partner breweries rather than from a dedicated facility of its own, the company keeps production small-scale and closely connected to its Sussex base.
All beers, both alcoholic and alcohol-free, are produced unpasteurised and unfiltered. The alcohol-free range spans lagers, hazy pale ales and nitro-infused stouts. Nitro infusion carbonates beer with nitrogen rather than carbon dioxide, producing a creamier, smoother pour. Alongside the core range, the Assemblage series blends beer and wine in a single product, a concept that draws directly on the founders' wine-trade background.
Dan Gale is one of the co-founding team. Lost Pier is independently owned and run by a small team working with local suppliers. The brewery carries beach-inspired branding that reflects its Sussex location. A taproom in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, offers an in-person venue, and regular events are hosted by the brewery. Trade customers can access a bar and tap installation service. The brewery's beers are available through its own online store and through wider distribution channels.
