Moersleutel

The name translates from Dutch as 'wrench', chosen because the brothers came to brewing from an engineering background, and the brewery has leaned into that identity under the self-styled banner of the 'Engineers of Beer'. The founders' route into the industry ran through their father's brewery, Vandeoirsprong, where the four spent years working before establishing Moersleutel as an independent, family-owned operation. In Alkmaar, the brewery operates its own canning line and a fully equipped laboratory, infrastructure that gives the team direct oversight of quality across the full production process.

The alcohol-free range is an extension of the brewery's flagship stout philosophy rather than a separate register. Moersleutel developed its AF stout specifically to replicate the thick mouthfeel and bold, rich character of the core imperial stout range, with the stated intention of matching the sensory impact of its regular beers.
