Old Mout
Old Mout is a New Zealand fruit cider brand founded in 1947 by Wanda Tait in the Moutere Valley. The brand was conceived in that valley with the great outdoors as its inspiration: Tait had made a cycling trip to England, sampled local scrumpy, and returned home to set up a cidery in a shed in the town of Nelson. Old Mout is now owned by Heineken UK and based in London, with its ciders manufactured in the United Kingdom.
The name rhymes with fruit, and the range is built around fruit ciders as its primary output. The brand has extended its portfolio to include alcohol-free versions of those fruit ciders, suited to sober-curious drinkers and those who prefer to drink without alcohol. Some of the range is also available on draught. The alcohol-free options are part of a broader fruit cider portfolio under Heineken UK ownership.
