OP Anderson
O.P. Anderson is a Swedish aquavit brand founded in 1891 and recognised as Sweden's oldest aquavit, first presented to the public at the Gothenburg Exhibition Fair that year. Carl August Anderson developed the spirit as a tribute to his father, Olof Peter Anderson, after whom the brand takes its name. The original release carried the name "Gammal Fin 1ma Aquavit" before the brand became known as O.P. Anderson.
The aquavit is produced by distillation and flavoured with caraway, anise, fennel, and orange, then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of six months. Production is handled by Anora Group at the distillery in Matfors, Sundsvall municipality, established in 2017, drawing on century-long expertise in aquavit distillation.
In Sweden, O.P. Anderson stands as the oldest and best-selling aquavit. Its alcohol-free range is suited to year-round aperitif drinking and to Midsummer celebrations. Several of the brand's drinks have picked up awards.
