Opius

Opius is a Belgian alcohol-free spirits brand founded in 2019. The brand is led by a master distiller who also holds a professorship, and its approach to producing alcohol-free spirits and elixirs is rooted in alchemical tradition. Made by hand in Belgium, each batch runs to about 200 bottles.

The production method originates from secret techniques used in the world of alchemy, and Opius applies these forgotten alchemical practices through a three-stage extraction process designed to retrieve what the brand calls primal essences from botanicals. The botanicals and spices selected for each batch are chosen specifically for their stimulating properties, a focus that gives the range a functional character alongside its alcohol-free credentials.

Four of the brand's drinks have picked up awards. Opius appeals to sober-curious drinkers and to those seeking an alcohol-free spirits option with a botanical foundation rooted in the principles of alchemy.
