Pentire

The brand was co-founded by Alistair Frost, a former surf instructor at Polzeath Beach in north Cornwall, and Edward Grieg-Gran. Frost founded Pentire from his home coast, drawing on familiarity with the distinctive plant life that grows along the surrounding headlands and on a love of active outdoor living. Pentire distils coastal botanicals native to the North Cornwall headlands, including herbs such as Sea Rosemary and Rock Samphire, using a technique similar to gin distillation but without the ethanol. Every bottle is distilled, bottled, and labelled by hand at its base in Rock, north Cornwall.

The brand is plant-powered and aimed at active, outdoor-loving drinkers. One of Pentire's drinks has won awards. Since launching in 2019, Pentire has reached 15 countries and attracted the attention of chefs including Nathan Outlaw, Rick Stein, and Paul Ainsworth. Distribution spans premium department stores and specialist alcohol-free retailers, as well as direct from the brand's own website.

Pentire is a member of 1% for the Planet, committing 1% of its annual net revenue to environmental non-profits. The brand also donates a share of its proceeds to sea conservation charities, including Blue Marine Foundation.
