Ponto Nero's traditional sparkling wines are made using the Charmat method, a process where secondary fermentation takes place in sealed pressurised tanks rather than in the bottle. When the brand moved into alcohol-free production, it applied a different technique: vacuum distillation, which removes alcohol at reduced pressure so the wine's delicate fruit aromas are preserved through the process. The alcohol-free range covers white and rosé sparkling styles.

The brand is part of Famiglia Valduga, a Brazilian wine producer with a portfolio spanning several sparkling and still wine labels. Ponto Nero sits within that group as the modern, cosmopolitan face of the range, positioned for sober-curious drinkers who want occasion-marking quality in a glass.

Launching a 0.0% sparkling wine in Brazil in 2021, before the AF category had gained significant mainstream traction in the country, put Ponto Nero ahead of local competition in this space. The brand's alcohol-free line has since expanded to offer both classic white and rosé sparkling formats for consumers who want the character of a sparkling occasion without the alcohol.
