Poretti
Poretti is an Italian brewer founded in 1877 in Induno Olona by Angelo Poretti. His travels through Northern Europe brought him into contact with the era's leading brewers, an experience that shaped the brewery that followed. The company is now based in Varese, and its beer-making history stretches back more than 140 years. Alongside its wider range, Poretti produces an alcohol-free beer.
In 1939, ownership of Poretti passed to the Bassetti family. The Carlsberg Group later acquired the brewery in stages, buying half its shares in 1982, a further quarter in 1998, and the remaining quarter in 2002, when it took full ownership of the company.
The brewery brews using low fermentation methods and also produces an unfiltered beer. Its range spans amber lagers, saisons, witbiers, porters and champagne-style beers, alongside its alcohol-free beer. That alcohol-free beer gives sober-curious drinkers and those cutting back a full-flavoured option alongside Poretti's traditional beers.
