REAL Drinks

REAL Drinks is a British sparkling tea brand founded in 2017 by David Begg, producing alcohol-free drinks made by fermenting loose-leaf tea and positioned as an alternative to sparkling wine.

Begg developed the concept at The Fermentery, a production facility on the Waddesdon Estate in Buckinghamshire. The brand's process involves fermenting high-quality loose-leaf teas with a living culture and sugar: a method that builds complexity in the finished drink without adding juices or artificial flavourings. The resulting sparkling teas are designed to sit in a wine glass alongside food, with the depth of character normally associated with premium wine.

The brand originally traded as Real Kombucha before rebranding to REAL Drinks, a change intended to better reflect its positioning within the premium sparkling wine alternative category. Since then, the range has found a foothold in the fine dining sector and is now served in over 50 Michelin-starred restaurants.

REAL Drinks suits sober-curious drinkers who approach the table with the same attention to food pairing they would bring to wine and want something more structured than juice or sparkling water alongside a meal.
