Riegele

Based in Augsburg in the Swabia region of Bavaria, Riegele is the largest private brewery in the city. Structured as a Kommanditgesellschaft, it operates independently and reports an annual turnover of over 18 million euros. In 1911, a new building outside the city and the Riegelehaus at Königsplatz were constructed. Production uses a 'brewery within a brewery' concept within a historic brewhouse, and Riegele adheres to the Bavarian Purity Law.

Beyond beer, Riegele holds a portfolio of trademarked drinks. A cola-orange mixed drink it invented became a Riegele trademark in 1956 and continues to be licensed today. In the late 1980s, the brewery acquired naming rights for a lactic acid-based lemonade, and on 1 September 2009 it took over the trademark rights and recipes of Lauterbacher Privatbrauerei.

The brewery's alcohol-free range spans IPA and wheat beer styles, produced at the same Augsburg site. One of its alcohol-free drinks has won awards.
