Staropramen is a Czech lager brand with a brewery in Prague's Smíchov district, where construction began in October 1869. The first brew was poured on 1 May 1871, and the beer went on sale on 15 July 1871. Founded by Jan Kohout and Vilem Pick, the brewery takes its name from an old mineral water spring in the Smíchov area; "Staropramen" translates literally as "old spring". The brand name was formally registered in 1911, and by 1933 the brewery had become the largest in Czechoslovakia.

Staropramen lagers are brewed using Czech Saaz hops and Bohemian and Bavarian malts, with a 70-day maturation period. The brewery began exporting in 1953, and in 1992 Staropramen was the first to convert packaged draught beer to the modern KEG format.

Staropramen's alcohol-free lager, brewed in Serbia by Aptinska pivara, extends the range for sober-curious drinkers.

Staropramen holds a 15.3% share of the Czech domestic market, and the Smíchov brewery is today the largest in Prague. The brand passed from Anheuser-Busch InBev to CVC Capital Partners in October 2009, before being acquired by Molson Coors in April 2012. In May 2023, English actor Orlando Bloom was appointed brand ambassador. Staropramen now exports to 37 countries, predominantly across Europe and North America.
