The brand operates under a dual ownership structure: the Violas Group holds 56% and the Carlsberg Group holds the remaining 44%. The wider Super Bock portfolio has expanded far beyond its Portuguese origins, with the Group's brands now present in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Super Bock's first alcohol-free beer arrived in 2005, placing it among the earlier mainstream European brewers to build a dedicated AF offering. The AF lineup is produced through physical dealcoholisation, a method in which beer brewed at full strength has its alcohol removed, preserving the original aromas rather than adding them back artificially. The range spans pilsner-style lagers, dark lagers brewed with toasted malts, and wheat beer styles, giving sober-curious drinkers a breadth of formats unusual for a mainstream European brand at this price point.

The dark lager format is a relatively rare inclusion in a mainstream AF beer portfolio. Dark, toasted-malt styles remain a small proportion of the AF beer market, and Super Bock's commitment to including one alongside its lighter lager and wheat beer styles gives the range an atypical depth for a mid-range brand.

Music has been central to Super Bock's identity in Portugal for decades. The brand has a long-standing sponsorship of the Super Bock Super Rock festival, one of the country's most prominent live music events, giving it a cultural presence that extends well beyond its retail footprint.

Multi-channel distribution means the alcohol-free range is available through specialist alcohol-free retailers and broader retail channels internationally.
