The Flying Dutchman Nomad Brewing
The Flying Dutchman Nomad Brewing is a nomadic beer brand based in Vantaa, Finland, started by Dutch brewer Ronald de Waal as a nomad brewing project in 1994 and producing an alcohol-free kriek among its range.
De Waal studied food technology, including brewing technology, in the Netherlands before moving to Finland in 1992. His early brewing work in the country included a house beer for Kala restaurants in Helsinki in 1994, the same year he set the project in motion with a barley wine. He brings over 25 years of brewing experience to the brand.
Operating without a fixed facility, The Flying Dutchman has brewed across Finland, the Netherlands, and Belgium, with production currently taking place in Belgium. The range spans saisons, ambers, stouts, hopped ales, and kriek beers, with the kriek available in an alcohol-free version. One of the brand's drinks has picked up awards.
