Trzech Kumpli
Trzech Kumpli is a Polish craft brewery founded in 2014 by Piotr Sosin in Tarnów, producing alcohol-free beers under the BezalkØ sub-brand since January 2019.
The name translates to 'Three Buddies', a reference to the original group of friends who conceived the venture, though Sosin now runs the brewery alone. Trzech Kumpli operates as a contract brewery, producing its beers at the Zapanbrat Brewery in Brzeźnica. That arrangement keeps the brand focused on recipe development rather than capital investment in production equipment.
The BezalkØ range launched in January 2019 with a non-alcoholic IPA. The brewery uses a specialised yeast strain that naturally produces very little alcohol during fermentation, rather than removing it after brewing. This means the beer develops its character through fermentation in the usual way, with the low alcohol level a result of the yeast's biology rather than a post-production dealcoholisation step, where beer is brewed to full strength and then has the alcohol extracted.
The BezalkØ range covers IPAs, oatmeal stouts, APAs, and fruit sours, including a cold-brew raspberry sour ale. One variant is the alcohol-free counterpart of the brewery's flagship wheat IPA, producing an AF version of the same recipe. Trzech Kumpli exports to several European countries, with the BezalkØ range available through specialist alcohol-free retailers internationally.
The brewery's stated philosophy is to take no shortcuts, a principle applied to both the full-strength and alcohol-free output. The range is broad for a contract producer of this scale and covers formats that suit sober-curious drinkers looking beyond standard pale styles.
