Uiltje
Uiltje Brewing Company is a Dutch craft brewery based in Haarlem that produces alcohol-free beers alongside a wide catalogue of hoppy craft styles. Founded in 2015 by Robbert Uyleman, who had previously worked at Jopen Bier, the brewery originated in a kitchen converted for the purpose and introduced its beer at De Librije, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Zwolle. It started as a contract operation before opening its own facility in the Waarderpolder district of Haarlem in 2016.
Uiltje's early output focused on barrel-matured porters, stouts, barley wines and imperial ales; the brewery has since shifted its emphasis towards heavily hopped styles including pale ales, IPAs and NEIPAs. The wider range spans stouts, sours, unfiltered lagers and hefeweizens, with alcohol-free beers available for sober-curious drinkers. Uiltje has also brewed green, pink and blue beers. The brewery's characteristic labels are illustrated by Gerben Valkema.
In 2020, Uiltje produced 10,000 hectoliters of beer. Two of its drinks have won awards. In 2021, the brewery became part of Royal Swinkels Family Brewers, a Dutch brewing group, and continues to operate under its own name from Haarlem.
