Weingärtner Stromberg-Zabergäu
Weingärtner Stromberg-Zabergäu is a German wine cooperative based in Brackenheim, Baden-Württemberg, formed in 2012 from the merger of the Brackenheim and Stromberg cooperatives.
The cooperative brings together around 1,000 wine-growing families whose vineyards are managed across the Stromberg and Zabergäu wine regions of Baden-Württemberg. The structure is that of a traditional German Winzergenossenschaft (wine-growers' cooperative), where member families contribute fruit and share production infrastructure, marketing, and distribution rather than operating independently.
The alcohol-free wine range is produced by vacuum distillation at low temperatures. This method removes alcohol from the finished wine by applying reduced pressure, which lowers the boiling point and allows the alcohol to evaporate without the heat that would otherwise damage the wine's aromas and flavour. Producing the AF wines at low temperature is central to preserving the character of the original.
The cooperative sells direct through its own Vinothek retail locations in Brackenheim, Bönnigheim, and Kirchheim, giving consumers access to the range in a tasting-room environment alongside the broader portfolio.
Pregnant consumers and others seeking AF wine with traceable cooperative origins and direct access to the producer make up the target audience.
