Wildjac
Wildjac is a spirits distillery near Bewdley, Worcestershire, producing gin, vodka and rum from locally foraged and homegrown ingredients, founded in 2019 by Chris Sadler. Sadler's family has been involved in brewing and distilling for over 150 years. The range covers gins, vodkas and rums, with alcohol-free spirits included alongside the alcoholic lineup.
The distillery sits close to the Wyre Forest, and that location informs its botanical choices. Douglas fir from the surrounding forest and lemon balm from the distillery garden feature among the botanicals used, alongside Worcestershire honey. All spirits are produced by hand from a still named Prudence, using traditional distilling techniques.
Wildjac describes itself as a sustainable, eco-friendly spirits brand. Some spirits are sold in Frugalpac paper bottles, which the distillery calls Frugal Bottles: these weigh a fifth of the equivalent glass bottle and carry a carbon footprint six times lower than glass, and are fully recyclable. Wildjac has also developed refillable bottles and recyclable refill bags, uses FSC-certified wood stoppers across its range, and donates 1% of its turnover to charities.
Among its spirits, Wildjac sells the world's first rum packaged in a paper bottle. The distillery offers tours, tastings and gin-making experiences, and products are available through multiple channels.
