About This Drink
The Implosion Amber Lager draws on the Central European amber lager tradition, with Vienna and Munich malts providing the grain backbone. To Øl describe it as loosely inspired by two of their own beers, which at least explains why the malt character is taken seriously rather than treated as filler. On the nose there's warm bready malt and a touch of caramel. The palate follows through: toasty, slightly sweet, with the herbal and earthy Saaz and Mittelfrüh hops keeping things from getting cloying. It finishes dry and brief. Pours a clear amber. At 1.9g sugar per 100ml it's cleaner than its colour might suggest, and the malt character comes through better served cool rather than ice-cold.
