About This Drink
A. Le Coq have been brewing in Tartu since 1807, and the Beer Mail IPA sits at the hop-forward end of their non-alcoholic range. Four hops do the work here: Chinook gives the piney, resinous backbone; Cascade and Citra push the grapefruit and tropical citrus; Amarillo adds orange and peach alongside them. At 40 IBU it is genuinely bitter for a 0.0% beer, which is not always a given in the category. The aroma leads with bright citrus and a grapefruit note, with tropical fruit underneath and a faint resinous quality from the Chinook. The palate opens with the hop bitterness, then the malt base comes through mid-palate to soften things a little before a clean, crisp finish. Vegan-friendly. Pairs well with spicy food, grilled vegetables, or sharp cheeses. If most 0.0% IPAs have left you wanting more bitterness, this one delivers it.
