Athletic Brewing's Lodge Life is a stout-inspired, seasonal alcohol-free winter warmer, brewed at the company's San Diego brewery. It was one of the first recipes there built from a feeling rather than a flavour: the warmth of sitting around a campfire after a day on the slopes, and bringing it together was an all-hands effort at the brewery. Cinnamon and cacao nibs go into the brew alongside roasted oats, and the aroma carries cocoa, cinnamon, cola, marshmallow and graham cracker with a faint s'mores quality. The taste brings vanilla, maple and light roast with a trace of woodiness and a touch of smoked malt.
