About This Drink
Crodino is Italy's original alcohol-free aperitivo, produced since 1965 and named after Crodo, a small town in north-west Italy where the drink was bottled for nearly six decades. The name went through earlier incarnations, first Picador and then Biondino, before Crodino was officially settled on 14 July 1965. The recipe infuses a blend of herbs, spices, and botanicals, including cloves and cardamom, in oak barrels for six months before blending. Golden amber in colour, the spritz opens on the nose with orange peel, herbs, and spice. The palate is bittersweet and citrus-forward with balanced bitterness, a touch of vanilla, and gentle carbonation; the finish is long, spicy, and herbal. It has been produced by the Campari Group since 1995.
