Estrella Galicia 0.0
An alcohol-free Spanish lager sharing its hops and malt with Estrella Galicia's flagship beer.
About This Drink
Estrella Galicia 0.0 is an alcohol-free lager brewed in A Coruña, Spain, using the same Sladek hop variety and Pilsen malt as the brand's flagship alcoholic lager. Rather than brewing at full strength and removing the alcohol afterwards, it uses an interrupted fermentation method, where fermentation is stopped early (after approximately 12 hours) before significant alcohol can develop. A dense wort boiling technique is used to help the beer retain body. The brewery uses its own proprietary yeast strain, maintained at the A Coruña facility, and draws water from the Abegondo-Cecebre reservoir nearby. The slightly sweet finish is a natural result of the short fermentation. It is the lead product in Estrella Galicia's 0.0 range, which also includes the roasted Tostada variant.
