LABS is IMPOSSIBREW's loyalty programme, and the Fruit Pastille Lager is its first experimental release. It's not widely available to buy outright. You earn "Lab Points" by ordering through the main site, then redeem them for Labs Edition beers at a pound a can. The LABS #001 tag signals that more fruit-forward experiments are presumably planned. The beer itself is a dry lager with natural fruit flavourings added to push the aroma in a hard candy direction. On paper it sounds gimmicky but the execution is more restrained than it sounds. Tangerine carries the mid-palate, blackcurrant adds a slightly tart edge, and lemon and lime give the finish some sharpness. The lager base stays fairly clean underneath all of this. It's vegan and gluten-free, and sugar is under 1g per 100ml. It's a beer for IMPOSSIBREW regulars rather than casual browsers. If you don't already order from them, you won't encounter it.
